Does CBD Work for Everyone?
There are a number of reasons I decided to get into the CBD business, but chief among them was the desire to make an honest living by helping people get relief from plant medicine.
Over the nearly five-year span our health-focused CBD snack bar has been on the market, I think it's fair to say we've helped a lot of folks gain some very tangible benefits. I say this based on the overwhelmingly positive reviews we've received on our website, as well as third-party product review sites like Trustpilot, Save On Cannabis, Snacknation, and many more.
But all that being said, I think it's also fair to say that for some people, CBD has not lived up to their expectations.
So why is it that some people say CBD is the best thing that ever happened to them, while others say the CBD craze is just a load of hooey?
Due to decades of hemp and cannabis prohibition, doctors and scientists have been largely prevented from doing the research that could give us a definitive answer to that question. However, now that hemp has been legalized and researchers are figuring out innovative ways to get around government restrictions, we can start making some educated guesses based on emerging research, anecdotal evidence, and a closer look at some of the CBD products that are actually out on the market right now.
For instance, this very helpful article from Green Entrepreneur points out some of the pitfalls consumers face in trying to find the right CBD product, especially when it comes to deceptive labeling practices on tinctures. The article also points out that, since everyone has a different endocannabinoid system, responses to CBD may vary from person to person.
Based on my own experience from having spoken face-to-face with literally hundreds, if not thousands, of people over the five-plus years since I've been in this business, the bottom line for me is that it literally just depends on the person. Some people tell me CBD literally saved their life, while others tell me CBD didn't do a damn thing for them.
So the simple answer, based on my own personal experience and several years of study is: No, CBD does not work for everyone. But I think the more important -- and useful -- question is: Will CBD work for YOU? And that's a big part of the reason why we created Velobar. We made a great-tasting CBD product at an affordable price-point ($4.99 for a 25mg serving) with healthy superfood ingredients so people wouldn't have to spend upwards of $100 on a tincture, or eat a piece of junk food loaded with sugar, to find out if CBD worked for them. We wanted to give folks a consistently-dosed, third-party tested, plant-based snack food that delivers pure hemp-derived CBD in a healthy, delicious way. And in that, I believe we've succeeded.
